On September 21, the PPP Roundtable Conference of the Seventh China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue (hereinafter referred to as "the Conference") was held at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing. Ma Kai, deputy premier of the State Council, and British Chancellor George Osborne jointly presided over the Conference. High-level government representatives of China and Britain in economic and financial fields accompanied them to attend the Conference.
The following people were invited to attend the Conference to make specific exchanges about the promotion of China-UK PPP pragmatic cooperation: Chinese business representatives such as Li Keping, general manager and CIO of China Investment Corporation, Hu Huaibang, chairman of China Development Bank, Chang Zhenming, chairman of CITIC Group Corporation, Wen Jianping, chairman of Beijing OriginWater Technology Co., Ltd., and Jin Yongxiang, general manager of Beijing Dayue Consulting Co., Ltd., and British business representatives such as Sir Michael Bear, chairman of UKTI Regeneration Investment Organization, Sir Grimstone, chairman of Standard Life Assurance, Sir John Peace, chairman of Standard Chartered, Douglas Flint, chairman of HSBC Group, and Alan Bellfield, chairman of Britain, Middle East and Africa Regions of Arup Construction Consulting Corporation. Both Deputy Premier Ma Kai and British Chancellor George Osborne pointed out: Since PPP has an increasingly broad global market and development prospect, governments and enterprises of both China and Britain should continuously strengthen cooperation, and keep injecting fresh momentum into the PPP cause of the two countries.
In order to impel China and Britain to establish a long-term PPP cooperation mechanism, the Ministry of Finance of China and HM Treasury concluded the PPP MOU between the Ministry of Finance of China and HM Treasury.
